Authenticity and Audacity

Kat Bell

My journey in hair began long before I ever held a license—I was in the salon, absorbing it all, from the age of 16. I graduated lisenced in 2010 in Houston, TX, but my advanced education was just beginning.

My career has been a deliberate pursuit of mastery across every facet of this craft:

A Foundation in Excellence: Trained under the rigorous standards of Toni & Guy, I built a foundation in precision cutting and advanced education that I carry into every appointment.

The Art of Color: Spent two years honing my skills as a Goldwell Color Specialist, mastering the science and subtlety of creating perfect, lasting color.

The Barber's Edge: For three years in Nashville and Houston, I immersed myself in the world of barbering, refining my understanding of texture, taper, and timeless technique.

The Extension Expert: As an Easi Hair Pro Certified Extension Specialist, I specialize in seamless, luxurious transformations.

The Correction Connoisseur: Color correction is a passion of mine—I thrive on solving complex problems and restoring both hair health and client confidence.

My expertise isn't just for my clients; it's been shared nationally. I spent two years before COVID traveling the country as an educator for Hattori Hanzo Shears, teaching fellow stylists the art of precision cutting.

I am also a business owner at heart. I owned and operated Image Creator Studio, my micro-salon in Houston, for three thriving years before the pandemic forced a difficult closure in early 2020.

That closure became a new beginning. In October 2020, I relocated to Durango with my two kids, ready to restart and rebuild. That resilience paid off. Through trust, talent, and sheer hard work, I've cultivated a thriving business for the past five years—a success that even allowed me to act as the general contractor and complete the build of our family home.

My work has graced video sets, weddings, news anchors, films, and print magazines, but my greatest pride is the work I do right here in my chair, for you.

Today, my purpose is clear: To use this deep well of experience not just to create beautiful hair, but to build a lasting, positive impact in the community I now call home. This isn't just a job—it's a lifetime of dedication to my craft, my clients, and a life built with intention in these beautiful mountains.

I can't wait to create with you.

Owner Operator

I'm the visionary, the marketer, the web designer, the product junkie, the janitor, and the vibe-setter. There's no corporate team behind the curtain—just me, my dreams, and probably too many tabs open. I built this thing from an idea into everything you see (and feel) here.

Outside of the Salon

Home Builder

I built my own damn house. For three years, I was the general contractor, designer, and permit-wrangler—all to create a forever home for me and my boys. This dream didn’t come with a manual; it came with chaos and collaboration. It’s my biggest accomplishment outside the salon, and I couldn’t have done it without my clients—who became my community—supporting every step of the way. This home isn’t just metal and concrete—it’s proof I’m where I belong.

Dancer

I LIVE for the stage—it’s my happy place, my soul’s spotlight! As a burlesque performer, producer, and teacher, I thrive in the glow of the lights. When I'm not doing hair, you’ll find me teaching classes, melting into somatic fusion flows, or rocking the stage with the Durango Burlesque Show and circus troupes. Performance and movement isn’t just my art—it’s my release, my joy, my medicine.

Mother

My two boys (6 and 8) are the heartbeats of this salon. They're here after school and on weekends, sharing stories and sometimes even grabbing a broom to help! This unconventional, family-integrated business is my greatest pride—it allows me to be the mom I want to be while doing the work I love
